I'm struggling with armor at this point. I have a compination of ebony and daedric armor right now that gives me ~130 ac. But it weighs almost 300 pounds, which is really cramping my exploration ability because I can't carry enough stuff. My magical skill suck, so I can't really cast mark/recall. So I have to intervention to a town to unload stuffor just leave it.
I have left good stuff all over the island. Including a complete set of glass armor off of some chick in a ruins. If a wore that I would guess at an AC of ~60. But it weights like 100 pounds.
Is the high AC worth it? Do I move/attack faster carrying less weight?
I'm confused

I don't think you fight faster, you might move faster but not a lot. You definately jump higher. I always used to carry about 500 stones (surely not pounds?) but when I dropped a lot of it and went down to 200, my next magicaly enhanced jump almost took me in orbit. :)
I don't think you need 130ac, 60 would be fine imo, just be carefull when you have to fight a few melee fighters at the same time. :)

I wear the following armor:
Chest : Lord's Mail - AC 333 - Wgt. 30.... Artifact, very nice!
Legs : Daedric Greaves - AC 266 - wgt. 44
Head : Oeryn Bearclaws Helmet - AC 300, also artifact! Const. effect: +40 end and agl.
Hands: Fists of Randagulf - AC: 333, you should have these
Shoulder: Ebony pauldrons
Feet: Ebony boots
Shield: Daedric tower shield - AC: 266, wgt. 50, nice - can carry a +45 const abb. enchant.
Total armor rating: above 270...
I can only state that with this kind of armor rating - YOU WILL NOT GET HURT!
I often leave the computer for minutes while standing still with my shield - just to improve block! When I return - often NO change can be seen in the health bar.
I have, with the fist of randagulf(+20) and an enchanted ring(+24) a str. of 144...
This allows me to haul a grand total of 720 - lots of free space for nifty loot!

exodus, where'd you get the helmet from??
Oh, with a max of 500 from non-magic shtuff(IE str 100), you can, with full daedric armor and a weapon, carry about 200 lbs worth of loot. Since most loot is worthless, you don't neccesarly need to ditch the daedric for more space.

Yes please! Someone say where to get all that phat artifact stuff. ;p It looks delicious hehe. I'm about to just finish the Main Quest and then play with my secondary character (who is more magically inclined).

Well, I won't be a complete spoil - I'll just put it this way - I work for the daedra princes whenever the opportunity arises...
Oeryn Bearclaws helmet is a reward for a quest given by Malacath...
I will put my hint this way: Azura is not the only Daedra Princess/Prince - and these quests are parallel to hers.
Read my post about the daedric prince quests - Molag Bal and Mehrunes Dagon both also have a quest for you...
And these are the ones that I've found.

I don't think Armour rating or weapon ratings matter one bit.
I had long blade and medium and heavy armour both at 100 skill points. My Armour rating was 192 and I would kill anything in a very short time with minimal damage to myself.
I have since gotten rid of all the armour and longblade and am now only wearing St Roris Robe and a Daedric Tower shield that I enchanted with 45 INT.
My Armour rating is is now 22 and my Unarmored skill is at 30, and basically I see no difference in the damage I take. Also I started using an Ebony mace and my mace skill is at 20 and I still kill stuff in nearly the same amount of time.
And no, I did not crank my stats through the roof with the console\editor as I bought the game to play and last awhile, not edit the crap out of my stats and god mode it all the way to the end in 2 days. (that would be completely pointless and make the game as fun as watching paint dry)
In fact any posts I read about how someone is this great and has this awesome gear and did this and that and finished the game already, it means absolutely nothing as anyone can use the console/editor to cheat, so most of these accomplishments are really meaningless unless you play the game without cheating, which I'm sure some of the more diehard RPG'ers are doing. (like myself)
The only console command I use is /fixme which I have used more times then should be necessary as the amount of times you get stuck on anything is ridiculous. (ie, head stuck in bookshelf, stuck in caves, stuck in docks, stuck in ... (fill in the blank))
The company that did the testing, Absolute Quality Inc., should rename themselves to Absolute Rubbish Inc.
Hopefully Bethesda will write a patch very soon that makes the game way more difficult and fixes the hundreds of bugs that Absolute Rubbish Inc. somehow missed in the 5 minutes that they spent testing this game.
And hopefully this patch comes out before Arx Fatalis is released or I may not finish Morrowind before I finish Arx.
