All righty then back on track.
White sand beaches as far as the eye can see. Woken up at dawn by tropical birdsong to a great native breakfast. Hammered on the surprisingly decent local beer by 0900. Gorgeous scandily clad women from every corner of the earth walking around, dark glasses so the wife doesn't see me looking. Watching the young ones playing on the beach, building a sand castle that only 3 year olds can identify as such.
Light lunch near noon, off on a pontoon to do some snorkling in the corals. Swimming, wondering while I'm not getting tired, figuring out that it must be because I'm having so much fun. Not thinking of work, or remembering that I even had a job.
Return to shore watching approaching sunset, clean up and change. kids to nanny.
Just the wife and I, eat dinner outside at a mongolian grill while watching the sunset finale.
Walking down the beach hand in hand stopping to listen to the various bands until we find one we like, stopping at an odd tiki-inspired bar. Noticing absinthe, swiss even, is on the drink menu. Having no trouble remaining calm and polite when the bartender nearly ruins it with the dreaded 'czech method'.
Waiding out into the water still hand in hand to get out of sight from the crowds, night-swimming and more under a too-large moon. Realizing during an odd moment of clarity that we don't need to be back home for weeks.

Usually I listen to some music when I walk into work, and if I manage to get up early and the weather obliges, the small city I live in really looks lovely, as there is a lot of Georgian building in the centre. The angle of the sun's light really seems to bring the detail out of things at this time of year. Depending on what I chose to listen to, I might suddenly feel rather good. It's like a kind of alchemy of visual and auditory elements that generates a sense of well-being.
It seems music affects me like few other things can.

The weather has cooled down enough that I can go outside.
My company is finally getting a project in the works that I've been waiting to work on for months, and we should be hearing about another awesome project within the next couple weeks.
I made it into a local audition-only choir.
I'm getting compliments on my graphic design, which means I'm doing stuff that's actually good, instead of just passable.
After a year and a half without, I'm getting the itch to write music.

Cuddling by candlelight with my husband during power failures, eating a dinner of peanut butter and jam sandwiches . Making shadow puppets that invariably end up having kinky, interspecies shadow puppet sex.
Trying to make a baby, and all the jokes that go along with that - "legs in the air kiddo" "swim boys, swim!"
Stiff muscles from rock climbing, when every muscle in your body sings you feel mighty indeed.

A huge bowl of ice cream, any variety, and an episode of L&O or CSI, any variety, can lift me out of any bad mood. Fortunately for me there's some version on some channel almost anytime, day or night. :D

Telling a person what Jesus did for him on the Cross. Watching the universe in awe, seeing God's wonderful creations. Praying and reading the Bible.
Understanding a chapter on electronics after 3 hours of intense reading. Finishing next week's demonstrations on time and having the rest of the weekend to play computer games. Browsing through the available courses for the next period. Imitating object-oriented programming using C. Running 11km and taking a relaxing shower afterwards. Writing the most beautiful and complex prog song, and then learning to play it. Choosing to praise the Lord.
