I didn't start playing System Shock 2 until about a year ago. But I've beaten it at least 21 times since then. And 5 or 6 times where I ditched the character halfway through because he wasn't working well enough for me. I've played it off and on. This is one of those times. I can't stop thinking of a slightly altered character build from what I played two or three games ago to try out. Whether its marine, navy, or OSA. This game has me fixated such that nothing else in the world seems interesting. Do help me to stop playing, indeed.

Accept your addiction and be happy. I did.

Welcome to the fold. :-)
A break from the computer is the usual method. Things like dealing with the divorce from your neglected spouse, moving because getting to the Rick was more important than getting the mortgage payments made, or a stay in the hospital from malnutrition are all viable methods of weaning yourself off the game.
Just Kidding! If you have any of the above issues, you've already gone too far. The break idea is valid though, but it's better to pursue other positive interests not involving the computer.

An addiction really doesn't need to be addressed until it starts to detract from a healthy lifestyle. So unless your getting some repercussions from turning into Mr. Goggles, I don't really see a problem with being an avid gamer.
Of course, if you really wanna break the habit, you could just uninstall the game and tell a trusted friend/family member to hide the disc somewhere you wouldn't look.

Spend four years of your life leading a graphics mod for it.
