I know stupid question but I cant work out the controlls I have forgotten how to check my inventory and I cant fight at all:mad:
All I know is how to walk and use the spacebar for everything. I just bought the game and there are no instructions with it.
just need to know how to use the controls please and how best to RUN around instead of walking everywhere.

ok I ran through the start again and have figured out most of my probs but acouple remain
1. HOW DO YOU RUN???????
2. How do you replenish lost health points?

Run is (I think) shift (hold down), or capslock (toggle perma-run).
Hitpoints you restore by resting (press T), which I'd recommend doing somewhere safe (not out in the wilderness), like the bedroll downstairs in the census office in seyda neen.

Er..unless of course you're on the Xbox version, in which case my key-advice is meaningless.
Anyway, surely you could just press everything until something does something? :D

'E' is jump. Radstar, why don't you check the keymap in game (Hit escape, follow the menu)? Why not hit every key and see what it does?

thanks guys I am new to this game only got it cause I played Arx fatalis and this was supposed to be better oh and it was 10 dollars lol
I like it but there is alot of reading as apposed to talking and there is alot of north south stuff but no compas. And I need some cash!!! gotta get some training done lol. Oh and I just joined the fighters guild is that good?

When the little arrow marking your position on that little map in the corner of your screen is pointing up, then your character is facing North. By the way, you payed attention at the tutorial at the start of the game, didn't you? 'cause I think all your questions regarding how to attack, the use of magic, the minimap, etc. are more or less answered there.
Also, browse your Morrowind CD directories. I'm quite sure you'll find a pdf version of the manual.

thanks for the help. I started the game from scratch and made notes but it does not mention how to perform magic I am still blundering around balmoral and have found a walkthrough of sorts which is helping but I'm still missing some info. I will have another look through the folders on the cd to see if there is a pdf manual.
