The plasma rifle is also quite useful, I think. Yeah, it kills you a lot, but isn't that half the fun?!
No.

I see you're living up to your title.
I sort of like the fact that the plasma rifle is dangerous and bounces off things because it mixes up the action a bit. You can do a *lot* with it, and on the other hand, you have to think a bit more before doing so. So no, I don't literally think that blowing yourself up is fun, but you're ZylonBane, so I probably should have expected a snarky, nearly content-free remark as opposed to anything constructive.

I just realized something. I know the enemies are nothing more than sprites but they SEEM to have 3d physics boundaries (maybe they do). Is this true? I ask because when I use the plasma rifle, I kill myself so often that I learned to hit enemies on the very edge (left or right side) and when I do, the ball ricochettes off at an angle and travels away from me. If the hit area on an enemy was just a plane or something then it shouldn't matter where I hit the enemy. It should just bounce back and kill me every time but it doesn't. What's up with this?

It probably works the same way Breakout's paddle does.

Or maybe they use a bounding sphere for collision detection instead of just checking against the plain sprite.

Uh-oh....
Looks like you didn't kill Diego Cyborg after all, pukey. HE'S COMIN FOR YA >: D
