As far as I know, there's no way to do that, although maybe if you allowed Gilbert to be killed by Jojo, something might come of it.

I can't remember what thread it was, but someone mentioned it was very difficult to get them to marry. Perhaps it was just someone repeating a rumour. Another Thief type bow upgrade rumour?

There's nothing about it in the missionscripts, and nothing (that I can find) in the conversation files, so I'm guessing this is a myth.
