Do you need the Bloodmoon & Tribunal expansions to become one?
Will it mess up the main story ect... :erm:

I know but do you have to have the expansions to turn in to one,i've been letting my self get attacked by 5 vampires at a time, going in to get beaten up (hoping to catch vampirism) and going out of the lair to heal for ages,I have no resistance to deasese..please i need help!!! :erm: :grr: :(

You don't need the expansions to become a vampire.
As to how, someone, Exile possibly, said recently that you don't really need to kill lots of vamps- esp. as you have to make sure you don't bump off any quest-giving ones (the ancients, IIRC). All you have to do is kill one lowly vamp of the clan of your choice (there are 3 clans with stealth, magic and combats specializations, just like the gt. houses) and then repeatedly search its body. You'll get sick soon enough that way, apparently.

I thought you contract it when they attack you? Vampirism is a disease like anyother one, so it would make sense if you catch it by being attacked.
All I had to do was stand there to catch Vampirism (I did kill one, but I didn't search it's body.)

I have another vampy question which will go well with this thread- I remember reading that if you've done the main quest, you'll need to lower your resistance to disease by means of potions/spells. Does anyone know what ingredients are needed for a potion? I couldn't even find one ingredient that gives weakness to disease. Or, who has the relevant spell? I fancy being a vamp with my main character too- after all there are 3 clans to play!

i dont know if there is a potion to help u catch desease...(actually i have a potion that makes u paralized but it is nonsense too)... but if u want weakness to desease i think u should find such a spell that is used for enemy (like "on touch/target") and customise it at a spellmaker as "self"... i dont know any other way to do it...

my friend said that when you first catch it you get a deasease called polyheamohealia or somthing like that and then you go to sleep then have a dream and become a vampire..is this right?
