Well, the fact of the matter is that once you finish the conversation with Paul once you return from the NSF HQ ("Agent J.C.Denton. Please put down your weapons and step into the hallway" etc.) your essentially doomed to capture. Whether you die in the hotel room, or in Battery Park, you'll still get taken. But don't let that stop you trying to get as far as you can. I love the showdowns with Anna and Gunther in the park.

"Good."

I'm just past that part of the game myself (second time through), and I just want to check one thing - did anyone else see Paul end up attacking the poor little cleaning robot in the 'Ton's lobby for no obvious reason?:joke:

Lol. Yea, I saw that too.
One of the reasons I boobytrap the place to hell and back is because you lose all the stacked lams. So if your captured with 10 lams, when you pick them up again [unlike your lockpicks or multi tools] you only get 1... :grr:

Wasn't it Library of Congress (said Simons)? It's a fascinating place, IMHO. :cheeky: :joke:

If you killed Manderley before he talked to Simons Simons will say that you did his dirty work for him. That coupled with the news report saying Manderley is dead makes me think that they just claimed they were transfering him and simply killed him.
Sam says Manderley has disappeared, and that they said he was transfered, but if you kill Manderley Simons sounds like he was going to do it himself, so the logic says that if you don't Simons does it himself, and that explains why he is reported dead.

It's funny. I rescued Paul by chance. I got killed in that hotel room right next to Paul, and somehow I pressed the wrong button... so the QuickLoad never happened. Instead, I woke up in the jail right after the regular death sequence...

Yes, that's the other way to save Paul. When you die inside of the hotel, both of you should be imprisoned later. :p
