Hey guys, pretty simple question here. I recently got a physical copy of Thief: The Dark Project, installed it, patched to 1.33. Now, I've heard you can mess with files to run the game without a disk, but I'm hearing conflicting answers on precisely how. Nothing I've tried so far has worked. If anyone has an easy answer, it would be much appreciated.

I'm amazed you can run it on a modern PC even with a disc.

Thanks, Downwinder, but this is for Old Dark. Original version. Should have specified that in the post.
ZylonBane, it's not exactly tough. DDfix does all the work.

does taffer patch work for thief 1?
i got 214 version of that,if not i have no idea

I think that's Thief 2 only. Thanks for trying, though!

Tafferpatcher is only T2, and is also NewDark. So the inevitable question you knew you'd have to answer is, why are you wanting to use OldDark?

ok i researched it and found out/remembered once i saw it you will have to newdark your thief 1 to play with no disk ,there might have been a line code to bypass this before newdark came out but i doubt its around anymore,i tryed to find in search box,but had no luck
and full t1 install wont work either with no disk,i still got my t1 cd disk from 1998,but i got rid of the trapazoid box,the booklets has a tomb raider demo on it :P
my advice is newdark/taffer patch and tfix are a must or you will hate climbing in game

I am a speedrunner. I run Old Dark. There are very many reasons not to use New Dark.

you need a no-cd fix then - I don't think linking those is allowed, so google is your friend.
