Absolutely. But they weren't obvious at all for me at the time. I remember going straight up to the second floor and having a look around, completely bypassing the training stations. Only after I picked up the first pistol from the chemical storage area and failed to drop a hybrid in 5 shots with it did I vaguely recall that e-mail.
Believe it or not Shock2's wall terminals are pretty good at being hidden in plain sight for someone new to the game, considering the hundreds of other useless displays clinging to the walls of the Von Braun.

This is one of the things I love about the game. It tries very hard to give the impression of a real place where people might live. Okay, so the level layout is weird, and the ceilings are a bit too high- but having something other than mostly-empty corridors gives it a rich, detailed feel.

I remember being amazed when a stray wrench swing smashed a wall panel, leaving a pile of debris on the floor, ahhhh 1999.

Do those help terminals actually have anything good in them? I've never looked at one.

Nothing that you don't learn during the course of a playthrough. Unless you pay very little attention for a long time.
Except for the one bit which said I could deactivate security alarms by touching security CPs. That I didn't know until I tried a terminal.

You must have been...
raped by security before then.

I usually just hid in a corner with the pistol or wrench waiting for them to find me. There was a big pile of corpses in the opposite doorway by the time the alert terminated.... and I was many, many pistol rounds poorer.

One of my many little habits I've developed over the years is frobbing every information terminal once (there aren't that many) as I run pass them (the help entry then gets activated in your MFD), for no real reason at all.

After all these years I didn't even know there was a way to get a little description of everything in your inventory. Seems there's always something new to learn. Either that or I'm just getting a little less slow every day. How do you get that info btw? Like if i want to know all about chips, lol.
