Just right click on the keypad, click the orange colored Hack button, and start hacking.

You see those squares on the screen?
Well start dragging them with the mouse to either left, right, up or down and will receive some feedback info like "oh oh you just voided the warranty" or "I think this panel is gonna blow up, now!" in order to correct on the fly your mistakes, try moving/dragging the mouse to another direction.
Ok I made up those warnings, but the original ones are good as well.

With Bioshock imminent, we've been seeing an attack of the noobs lately haven't we. Downloading the warez version, not being able to figure out how to get SS2 to run, and not knowing how to do anything in the game (possibly because the warez version doesn't come with a manual, but far more likely because people have no patience these days).
But I'll be nice . . .
How do you hack? You click the orange hack button, and try to connect three nodes (squares) in a row to complete a circuit path. If you don't manage to do it properly, you have to reset the hack and try again until you get it right. In the simulator it doesn't matter, but in the actual game if you fail your hack too often it costs you a lot of nanites and could even set off an alarm.
As for the power cell . . . simple. Hit the tab key to bring up your inventory, click and hold the mouse button on the battery, and drag it on to the slot on the wall. Oh yeah, you're sure you did charge the battery first, right? ;)
Why am I being so nice to a warez kiddie . . .

I just ran through the Technical part of SS2's training level (it's been a while), and the voiceover explains exactly what to do.
Oh wait, let me guess, Mr. "Too Cool for School" Guitarman decided to skip the advanced training.

He's in the training.
I'm sure there were a whole lot of options for you there, ZB, I'm saddened that you picked the one that underlines your ignorance over the newbie's :( That just ain't the ZylonBane I know.
ZylonBane on 15/7/2007 at 14:23
Whoops.
Oh well, that makes it twice as sad. He's right there, can push the little button that tells him exactly what to do as many times as he wants, and he still can't figure it out? :weird:

That's better. :)

Well, he might be experiencing that inventory bug. Any idiot could figure out to click the nodes in the hacking window, but if they are "unclickable" it would confuse new players.
