I'm trying to get my Telvanni stronghold started but cannot find the Duke in Ebonhart.
I can find a locked (90 points) door to his chambers with 2 guards outside but no matter who I talk to I never get told where he is or how I get to see him. If I try to pick the door the guards attack me and they are most unhelpful in every other way.
Please help - I've search everywhere for the answer.
PS.I have the full soulgems already.

his in a tower in Grand Council Building. if you walk to the left, when you step in, you will se a man in a yellow dress, just before him, there is a stair leading to the Duke.

Hi,
Leave that door alone for now... your looking in slightly the wrong place there. You are in a building joined to the grand council (I think your in the commision or something...) anyway, if you imagine you have just got into the main council chambers by coming across the bridge from the docks direction. There is a door straight ahead (out to the Imperial Cult) a door to your right (where you had gone) and an area to your left. From the door you came in head left and ahead and you should see an arched entrance to a stair well... go up two flight and you should enter a room containing 3 people. One of these is the Duke.
Sorry if the directions aren't the clearest but I'm at work. In essence there are no locked doors, he is upstairs in the main council chambers, a little tricky to find but hopefully you should be able to get to him now...
P.S. Telvanni ROCK!!!

Telvanni are a bunch of scum-sucking slavers. They talk about wanting to be left alone, yet they invade foriegn lands to rob it of its resources and inhabitants.

The Great House Telvanni is a great and noble institution. It just happens to be run by powercrazed, xenophobic madmen (and women) They are my personal favourite of Morrowind's factions.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the real slavers of the Great Houses are House Dres, in the south of mainland Morrowind - staunch anti-abolishitionists who depend on the huge numbers of Argonian slaves captured in raids into the adjoining district of Black Marsh to work their immense marshmerrow plantations. I think.

Yeah there are a few Telvanni slaves but not as wide spread as Hlaalu, think of all those plantations with slaves everywhere!!
Telvanni quests are more interesting IMHO...

Plus, Telvanni have Ayron and Divath Fyr, the two coolest NPCs in the game.

Me, I'm partial to Therana; not only is she absolutely 100% round-the-bend-and-back-again squirrel-food, but by all accounts she's also an extremely powerful mage. Quite an intriguing combination for an NPC, from a DM/GM/storyteller's perspective. Makes 'em the ultimate deux ex machina, if nothing else. Too bad she wasn't used more, but ah well.
