I know this has been covered but I'm damned if I can find it. What is the procedure for backing up and restoring Deus Ex saves? I know it is more than just copying the saves folder, but I can't remember what. Thanks to a shiny new IBM Deskstar hard drive that decided to fail  I need to rescue as much data as possible. Thanks for the help.

Well, I've always just copied the save folder over to an rw and copied back to the save folder when I want to play again, I also had to remove the read only attribute because it is added when I put it on an rw.
I've never had any problems using this method.
So does this mean that the Deskstar is getting the nickname deathstar back(or has it ever lost it?)

Deathstar definately. I bought this drive because I have had good luck with IBM drives in the past, but this one really sucks. I do not know what drive to get since I have heard rumblings that say all of the major drive manufacturers are having early failure problems. Any recommendations?

Save the USER.INI or your save games won't work (unless you create exactly the same character again). Save the DEUS EX.INI, too.

I guess I've been lucky(or just unoriginal).
