Yeah. I can't stand friendly helpful folks either.

It had something to do with Deus Ex, I believe.

I had a dream about making my own thief missions, then several links later, found to my delight that it was indeed possible and there was already a surprisingly lively community complete with a horizon full of fan missions to enjoy.

I looked up "friendly helpful folks" on the internet and there it was: A community like I'd never seen before. Then I went to TTLG.
LOL!As for me, I found the link here the summer I squatted in GBM's Canadian condo while he was otherwise searching for true love in the wilds of upper California.

I did a search for 'Scots Taffer's massive dong' and walaa! TTLG was the very first hit.
PigLick on 9/12/2008 at 05:19
Well, TTLG found me!

I typed random four-letter combinations between the www. and .com until I found someplace that looked interesting.
That was how we had the search the Internet in the DAYS OF ELDAR you know.

I needed some help with starting Thief and after a few searches, I ended up here. I just put the Thief Technical FAQ page into Favorites (Internet Explorer back then) and started lurking the forum, but I registered a lot later (some time after T3 came out). The page is still bookmarked as "TTLG Forums - Thief Series FAQ (Technical - Purchasing - Etc.)".

I came looking for a howto on the bow upgrade.

Back in early 2007, I was looking for more info about Bioshock, of which I'd heard little at that point, but was intrigued. And there was TTLG, a combination of sometimes surprisingly intelligent debate and enthrallingly rabid pissing contests, with its own DX subforum, to boot. Fast forward to a few months later, I decided to register.
