On the subject of Hamas, The difference between a government, and a terrorist organisation, is that the latter is not the soveirgn governing body of a state. Seeing as how Hamas now qualifies for being the former, I'd say that they should be treated accordingly. Let them step on their own dick, as AM put it.
Of course, it's still too amusing when the US starts squaling when Putin aknowledges them.

The State Department's and Congress' policy towards Hamas has been utterly idiotic so far as it sets us up as a big fat scapegoat in case the PA can't bring stability to the region. It's not like undermining Hamas as a political institution will make them go away, or dispel the popular support that got them elected in the first place.

I don't really believe there is anyone in the world that would make that claim:)

Basically, the point wasn't that he is this enlightened guy, but rather that the US is crying Wolf.

How about we just back the fuck off and respect the decision of the Palestinian people for
once? But of course, that's not a Real World Answer, right?
The rest of the world will not honor any kind of self-imposed isolationism. Especially if
they feel justified in attacking.
Swiss Mercenary on 17/2/2006 at 07:43
Clearly, the reason that planes were crashed into the WTC, was because the terrorists hate our freedom.
There's a lot of good reasons for why isolationism is stupid, but yours isn't even a half-assed one.
