Looking great, normals could be a bit more pronounced, but it'a a matter of taste I guess :)

When it comes to busy textures like plaster, I usually like to keep the normals subdued. Otherwise it looks too loamy.

See, that looks like painted rock than plaster to me. Wayyyy too bumpy.
Also, I've got a really bad and ugly seam in that texture that somehow slipped by me. Once I get some time, I'll fix that up and reupload the texture.

I don't know, it looks like its more an external wall from an old whitewashed building.
For info I'm currently working on a resource manager for GarrettLoader 1.42, It primarily for Thief 1 and 2 (AI Skins, textures, etc) but I aim to have it to grab resources out of T3 and Dark mod FMs too at some point.

Nice! By resources manager you mean model/texture viewer? :)

More texture viewer at the moment, it kind of rips the textures out of FM zip files, adds details of them to GL's database (along with any info you want to add) and will display them to you.
I know its possible to skin models in Visual Basic but I don't yet know how so I will look into this and see what I can come up with (although this may be a later version of GL).

I'm not sure whether ripping textures is necessary. I mean, FM authors can simply add textures folder in their FM or post their textures somewhere here. Besides, there might be some textures that authors/copyright holders don't want to publish.
E.g. I have some nice textures from Dave Gurrea in my FM and he doesn't want his materials to be accessible out of the project, or distributed in any way. So using this function in GL would be a violation of his terms in this case.
I know that generally the stuff we use in FMs is free or made solely by us, yet sometimes it might be necessary to have some control over the content we put there. Such "content ripper" would make it quite difficult ;)
I believe what FM makers would need more is a "Matlib creator", as 3dsmax 5.1 is a hard thing to get. I guess you'll have to examine the structure of mlb file and Ion Shader plugins for 3dsmax for that.

Ok, I guess the Flickr group doesn't really offer any real control over the content, so it would be better to have something more reliable, like Southquarter - a blog-like page template put on a rented server. I've been "testing" a several blogs and I think WordPress would be a nice choice. I tried Blogger too but I guess I'm a html dummy or it's not as configurable as I wish it was... (a small preview (
