Hello
while in Ald'rhun i made a huge msitake by joining house Redoran.
i couldn't even find where my first quest was, so i decided to go to house Hlaalu, since it would be easier for me to locate in balmora instead of all the way in ald'rhun.
ofcoarse they said i couldn't join because i'm already in another house.
so i attacked a council member from house redoran, got expelled from house redoran, paid the price, hopped on the silt strider to balmora only to hear that i can't join because i'm already in another house!!!!
I rechecked and saw that i am indeed expelled from house redoran.
the reason i won't load is that i've been in ald'rhun for some while and did some big and hard quests while there after i signed in at house redoran!

IF you have the PC version you may well be able to sort the problem out IF someone posts the relevant commands to allow you to join house Hlaalu.
Unfortunately if you have the x box version you're screwed.
I think you'll find that House Redoran (knightly warriors) will suit your character a lot more than House Hlaalu (thieves and assassins). If you do choose to reload before killing a Redoran Noble try asking for quests from Neminda the redguard woman in the council house entrance.

well the reason that i want to join hlaalu is because a) I AM an assasin (it was most suited for me) anb B) it is (for me) the center of the map (atleast the map that i need, mostly the western regions) and Ald'rhun isn't so easy to get to.
so, whats the command line?

I'm sorry as I implied in my first post I don't have the command line for you - you'll just have to hope someone good with the console will help you out.
I find it strange that you have an assassin class character yet you are a high-ranking member of the Imperial legion - a 'warrior' class guild. Why haven't you chosen to join the Morag Tong or the Theive's Guild? I'm not saying you have to join these factions but i would imagine it would make your life a lot easier.
In the future when asking for advice you may find it to your advantage to state what version of the game you have (Xbox or PC) as it prevents unnecessary confusion.
Sorry i can't help you more. :erg:

Well thats actually a good question.
I just wanted to dive into the game without resorting to all kinds of questions and stats, so I just took the first class that popped into my head.
since in the Discworld books the leader of the great city is infact a graduate from the assasins guild i took assasin.
If i want i can always join the assasins guild later, I don't think i'll every start the Blades-quests at this rate :)
sorry i forgot to say PC.
I once saw the command line but don't remember where, then i learned that a great house isn't just a faction, but they can build a stronghold, and that made me wanna join one.

Hmm.. if you haven't done any Redoran quests, there's a good chance you can do Hlaalu w/out any hangups (assuming, of course, that you didn't kill any important Hlaalu councillors).
As to the command, try: PCJoinFaction Hlaalu
(I'm working from memory, but I think that oughta work)
Lastly, Hlaalu's quests are more "special agent" (think James Bond) than pure "assassin".
