So which one you like best? I'm with Wasteland Explorer, but I have replaced many things (pics to follow). And it's a joy living there. :p
And do you have any new suggestions for themes (perhaps a good tip for modders)?

Are the themes purely cosmetic, or is there a real benefit to buying them? I've held off buying themes so far because they seem like a waste of caps and I'm concerned I might lose the masses of crap I've got stashed in my locker.

Pointless shite IMO. I mean, I only tried one but the only benefit was getting quite a bit of food with the furniture.
As for the visuals of my house, why would I care? Does anyone actually sit around the place staring lovingly at the comedy butler bot instead of just stopping by to stash stuff, sleep and leave? Bizarre feature and so out of place with its sugary whiff of tamagochi, I thought.

I went with Science and although it scattered a few useful items around (Some meds and scrap parts) it wasn't anything I couldn't find in a random container for free.

Oh, so harsh! See, it's like dressing your character in a certain way to stylize him/her. Aesthetic enhancement of roleplaying.
Regarding the robotic butler, I disabled him because he was taking too much space and apart from telling mediocre one-liners he was pretty much useless. Also his jet was making too much noise.
Once I gathered about 10K caps, the themes and other house equipment were pretty much cheap anyway.

I suppose maybe I'm not much of a roleplayer in that way. My character dresses to DR stats and present environmental conditions.
I hope by disabled you mean mangled into mechanical spaghetti.

Well, yes. However his remains were decorating my house for a long time afterwards until they disappeared (I generally think that many corpses last too long in some areas with slow respawning).
That was before I discovered disable command. Now I can easily erase from the world anything and anybody annoying. :p

Exactly! Sometimes when I'm in an interesting location I just sit down and try and frame a nice image of myself. If the 360 could take screenshots I'd have dozens.

The themes include some useful things (some Sugar Bombs, a 10mm pistol, etc) which vary depending on the specific theme, but they're mostly cosmetic. I'm pretty much stuck with the Pre-War theme. My eyes can't handle the lighting in Science, Love Machine is too cheesy (although it includes several pairs of shades that you can use for repairs), Raider is just gross, and the others are boring.

Don't forget that you can use "disable" to remove unwanted junk from the themes. I've successfully used it to get rid of the completely useless coatracks and the dictation typewriter in the Pre-War theme. You can also use "player.placeatme" to add items, so if you
really want a brahmin and some traffic cones in your Love Machine nest, you can get them.
