I've heard the word 'Hortator' used a lot recently in the context of being the highest rank you can attain in the great houses but i thought 'Archmaster' was the highest rank.
I'm only a kinsman at the moment in the Redoran house and I'm busy constructing my strong hold but I'd appreciate if someone could explain the difference between these two ranks for me.
I get the impression that the Hortator rank is something you become during the main quest - am i right about this?
OR
Is the Hortator some sort of prophesised individual special to the house you are in and you have to some how prove your self to be this person after you attain the rank of Archmaster?
...OR something else altogether?
I'd appreciate it a lot if someone can help me out with this.
Thanks :)

Hortator comes into play later and isn't attainable outside of the main storyline's progression.

Hortator isn't a rank, it's like a title... you earn it during the main quest.
