I've been on my horse when he's fallen off a mountain and I hated to watch the tumbling scenes! They seemed to go on forever and ended only when my broken body finally stopped rolling. I don't get nearly as pissed off when my horse dies now; I'm too lazy to go back & buy another one, so I just resurrect him.

Seconded. That's one thing I find highly annoying. I was also really hoping Bethesda would've figured out a way to let you fight while mounted. It irritates me to have to dismount every time I have to face an enemy. Wish I could just whip out my bow while still mounted & shoot those damned wolves, etc., before they start attacking.
But I still love riding through the countryside and like the fact that horses are able to climb better than my character can.
