So has anyone actually played this at all? I thought the intro scenes and first little bit of gameplay were really good, the atmosphere and story quite interesting, but then it just turns into a huge funnel through setpiece fire-fight after the next. Gave up about half way through.
The multiplayer though is a different story, I have probably clocked more hours on this than any other recent fps (barring COD nazi zombies). The levels really encourage camping and sneaking around, and the little extras like calling in airstrikes, remote tanks and such are a welcome change to the usual fare you get.

Don't we have a Homefront thread?
Regardless, I was considering getting this, but some of the stuff that came up in reviews turned me off. I'll grab it when it's super-cheap, but I don't really see myself doing that for a while.

I did a search, but couldnt find any thread.

It can be summed up as "I see what you did there, too bad you fucking failed".

This was included in the THQ pack I got during the Summer Sale, but I haven't installed it yet. Too busy with all the other awesomeness that came in the pack :D

Yup, this game looks like it'll be awesome! Urban Far Cry 3/4 with weapon customisation and gunplay from Crysis.

Homefront 1 was a decent CoD clone (with hints of Half-Life 2) with an interesting premise that was sadly squandered. THQ going under sounds like it actually worked in HF2's favour, since Deep Silver Dambusters seem to have elevated it far above being just a CoD clone like the first game.

Deep Silver Dambusters is just Crytek UK re-branded, and Crytek UK was who was making Homefront 2 under THQ, and it was always going to be a massive improvement over Homefront 1, because Kaos were terrible at everything. Design looks like it's shifted a bit further than when it was at THQ, though. Large open levels turned into full open world, which isn't a bad thing.

Big question is how the game is/will be like, when your not out doing missions and just want to wander around doing whatever. Far Cry 3. Excellent at this.
I hope you can solo if you want to with the missions. Playing Co-Op is great and all, but sometimes the best fun is stealthily or guns blazing taking on a mission solo.

Crytek UK used to be Free Radical, kind of miss those guys.
