Howdy, taffers!
Haven't been around in ages, but just the other day I was playing
Subnautica: Below Zero when I noticed something and did a double take.
So, not to spoil too much: You're stranded on an extrasolar world, and end up with this alien buddy. His body's initial appearance is... well, see for yourselves:

Crayman/beast!
Indeed :D
Though Al-An here happens to be a lot more eloquent and less clicky than your average crayman :P

In light of a genuine question, in which uncertainty of the poster is indicated by not stating something as fact, but instead posing a hypothesis, leaving the conclusion open, Zylonbane cleverly points out that the answer could be 'no'. However, he did not shed any light the topic. He just indicates that he does not know either, he just would like to make clear to everyone that his personal favorite word, 'no', is not off the table. Thanks, Zylonbane, for this important addition to the discussion :)
On topic: cool find :thumb:

ZB is right though. Read it again. In answer to the question - no.

The design of Craymen themselves is based on something specific (from real life probably) and the design of the Subnautica creature is probably based on that thing too, not on Thief. Party pooper and all that

Reminds me of when peoples' only point of reference is a film or a game.
"OMG that Greek temple is just like the one from Assassins Creed!!!1111!"
No, dumbasses, the one from Assassins Creed is based on this style that existed 100s of years ago.

Or literally any post-2007 game set underwater getting described as "like Bioshock."
