I need something new to do... all the old shit has worn itself out. Anyone have anything new to do that doesn't cost a shitload of scratch? I've still got reading to while away my life but I'm thinking about maybe something that could be more social (and I may be shedding off my old gaming habits... I haven't touched games in eons now). I'm going to join a local running club and some other shit, but I'm open to - begging for - new ideas. I need to whip some polish back into life.

If you have a local college near you that does night classes, take a random course in something that catches your fancy. I started doing that last year and it's great from both the social and learning points of view.

If you like playing T2:The Metal Age, you should try Dromed. If you catch on, it can be almost addictive for a while. And it's free!

Fix old electronics. It's a skill that can prove useful later on in various applications. I got a bunch of 1930s radios and am learning how to rebuild them and I'm learning soldering, electrical repair, mechanical functioning, etc
Plus they look really neat all fixed up

Volunteer somewhere, there are tons of options here, many are social. I volunteer at the Humane society and occasionally with Habitat for Humanity, you can do some good and learn something at the same time.

Learn an instrument. Always fun.
Hit da gym. Staying active automatically makes you feel better throughout the day.
Convince a group to get together for some Basketball? Or learn Basketball, since it's the most useful sport to know for social activity.
