Hm... I wonder... (poss. spoilers) - by Dragonclaw

OK, it just broke to me today while I did the dishes:
Why is Anna surprised when you say her killphrase?
And before you answer: "Because she's puzzled that you know it", I'm on about:
Why in all the world does SHE know it?
OK, so JC didn't know he had a killswitch. Paul probably only knows because he talked with Jaime or whoever.
But Anna? It doesn't make sense to let her know the phrase. First, TELLING her the phrase would be right out :cheeky: And I'm not too sure anyone would let her know, the "good agent" she is, she would be above this kind of relation, I guess...
But why would she need to know it? Is there any possible explanation for it?
Maybe to avoid it, but that's not sooo convincing. And if she heard it, the moment she knew what was going on would be the moment she dies...
Anybody an answer?

Hmm.. good question; if memory serves, you get half of the killphrase from her computer. It's possible that she hacked her own comp (not out of character for her, really) and guessed that you'd somehow gotten the whole thing. It's even possible she snuck into Manderley's office and got the other half there, seeing as she was the one who "taught" JC how to sneak and all.

Well, there you are:
JC: "Take your best shot, flatlander woman."
*Anna gets an uncomfortable feeling* Anna: "How did you know...?"
BOOM!!

Maybe she's not reacting to the kill. Maybe she's reacting to the phrase. Maybe the end of her sentence would have been "...that I was brought up in Flatland". Or something less silly. Y'know?

Forsythe: Hm, no... I think she's too much of a "good soldier/agent" to behave against her orders. And surely, hacking is against the orders ;)
juveli: I meant, would it make sense to let her know, if all she could do was dieing?
Seeing it from some official/government view, that is.

I think that the phrase 'flatlander woman' probably had some other signifigance to her, such as Gunter's reaction to his killphrase (Laputan machine) "I am not a machine!". UNATCO designers had a weird sense of humor.

Agents are probably informed that have a killphrase so that they would think twice before being disloyal.
My comment about that incident is the poor voice acting. She didn't exactly sound emotional.
