Going back to the original post:
I got drinar varyon back into the game but Odral Helvi is still saying he is dead, nevermind. Is there a specific place for him to be for this to work ?
WingedKagouti on 10/7/2002 at 20:51
As far as I've looked through TESCS the game only checks if you have killed someone, not if they are alive whenever such a check is needed.

Hmmmmm....I must have killed the guy then. I do remember killing one of the trader now, and he was a arms trader. I needed some cash so I picked a fight with him, killed him, and sold all of his stuff to the guy next door. It's weird because I thought that drinar varyon said he was a pottery trader. I know I wouldn't have killed a pottery trader since their stuff is to low valued.
Anymore ideas on what to do now would be nice. I wanted to have a stronghold built for me. Crap!:erg:

WingedKagouti: Interesting interpretation; I just thought it meant to see if he was alive, but I think you must be right. It's probably more efficient to just keep a register of who you've killed than to load their object up every time a 'dead' check is needed.
howie: Try this to manually set the 1st journal entry, and then go directly to Drinar (and ignore Odral):
Journal HH_EbonyDelivery 10
That might work...

It's close, Forsythe. I got the order (journal updated) to deliver the ebony but the one thing I don't have is the ebony to give. If I knew what pieces I'm suppose to give it would help, if i can find those pieces. The more I keep thinking about it.... the more question I have. Good idea tho. After I get the pieces; how will drinar varyon respond(?), and how will Odral Helvi respond to the fact he thinks drinar varyon is dead (?)
Tune in tomorrow....same bat time....same batty channel.
Forsythe: ...ooooh...how do I get stuck getting these idiots out of their stupid mistakes....(shakes head in disbelief)....:(
Forsythe on 11/7/2002 at 09:36
*chuckle* I just realised something... you haven't been filling Curio in on all of this, have you? If you run each of Odral's little schemes past Curio, he'll resolve them in such a way that Odral and Drinar go away forever. (And yup, I was delusional when I suggested going to Drinar... best solution here is to go the journal entry like I proposed above and then deliver the ebony to Curio, who sends you elsewhere)
As to how to get the ebony, there's the hard way (scavenge it or steal from the mines) or the easy way (you'd have gotten it from Odral if all had gone well):
Player->AddItem Ingred_Raw_Ebony_01 5
And no worries re: the help, I screw up as often as I'm right; the whole thing (especially quests) is a bit convoluted ;)

Now I've got real problems:
I delivered the ebony to drinar varyon, then went back and talked to Odral Helvi, who still thinks drinar varyon is dead, so he won't update my journal. So then, I went and seen Curio who says that he wants me to make sure Odral is arrested for this, but when I continue the conversation he says, " You delivered the ebony to drinar varyon! I wish you would have talked to me sooner! ", and now, he won't update my journal either. :( I'm stuck in a Pandora's Box of mind numbing proportions....oh the pain.....me walks away with ebony on me face.
Forsythe on 11/7/2002 at 22:10
Hrm... it may be possible to deliver 5 ebony to Segunivus Mantedius in the Buckmoth Legion fort; he doesn't check if you've delivered it to Drinar. You'll still have the 'bad' journal entry, but all else should work out (assuming I'm reading the dialogues right)

:)Good News: I went back to a bed save and re-dude the problem. I now have my small stronghold up and built!
:(Bad News: I screwed up again. Oh Crappy Crackers! I must have killed the diseased queen in the Shurdan-Raplay Egg Mine. They say it's now my egg mine and the only way to make my stronghold bigger (?) is to cure the queen so the mine will be productive again. ~code please for the blighted queen so I can get this puppy up and running.
.....oh no....now what's on the horizon after I get this fixed....
Forsythe on 12/7/2002 at 00:09
*laugh* Man, you should be damned grateful that you're not playing on the XBox version... ;)
Go to the queen's chamber (for aesthetics, if nothing else), and try this:
placeatpc "kwama queen_shurdan" 1, 1, 0
(Please note, that's a space after kwama, not a _)
