I'm a total newb, so please forgive me if this has been answered before (I tried searching, but didn't find anything...). I'm in Balmora and am doing the Thieves Guild side quest/Moonmoth Fort bloodbath deal. I killed all the people, except for the bartender, in the Council Club and then went and paid off my bounty like a good boy. However, the Hlaalu guards won't stop attacking me. I don't have a bounty on my head and I can't talk to any of them to serve time or what not. I went to the Hlaalu Council Manor and joined up, but even then the guards still attack me.
Can anyone help?

I've answered this many times before but it is impossible to search for a topic with the answer because it can happen with any type of guard. Open the console and type:
"hlaalu guard_outside"->stopcombat player
"hlaalu guard_outside"->setfight 30
I am assuming that only the outside guards have been attacking you, if the inside ones do as well then type in the same codes but without the _outside bit. The reason they are attacking you is a bug when you attack them while they are running up to you with their weapons but they haven't actaully attacked you yet; or if you attack them from above them then sometimes they stop combat for a few seconds so if you attack them then, then they will forever attack you. When you do either of those to any single one of the guards, then all guards of that type will attack you because they share a common ID.
If you on xbox and don't have console, then there is another way to fix it but it is so complex I'd call it more of a ceremony than a fix.

you know, you didnt have to pay yer bounty dude :) just tallk to larrius varro and hel drop your bounty for a job well done!wait....thats a possible theives guidl thign? or did i read too fast and misread it?
