Do you have rudder pedals hooked up? This hasn't happened to me in Hitman, but it's happened in other games, and the culprit were my rudders.

catbarf, is it playable for you with mouse and keyboard?
That's what I use whenever I play it.

Thanks for the suggestion Thirith, but no, even after disconnecting my joystick and throttle (the only peripherals, besides my Vive) it still thought I had a gamepad plugged in. I wanted to use M+KB, Malf, but the game doesn't have any option to disable the gamepad that it mistakenly believes exists. At this point I think I might just refund it and see if a future update fixes things.

I've just done Silent Assassin/Suit Only challenge on Professional in Sapienza. OMG. it alone took about 4hrs to do it properly, it was like 15 attempts. Not an easy task, especially if you don't watch youtube guides. Stealth at its best, lots of planning... and only one save.

Heh, I make that challenge even harder and roll in Piano Man as well, meaning I have to kill both with the fibre wire. That challenge is usually the first one I try to get done whether playing a level at normal difficulty or Professiona. It usually teaches me so much about the level in question that the rest of the challenges become a cake walk.
I've been putting off doing the Marakesh Professional challenges, as it's my least favourite level.

Hmm, it would be more logical to do challenges contrariwise - from easier to harder ones. I usually do SA/SO lastly.
BTW, I like my professional run more than the first time on normal. It's just that with only one save I get proper experience of going through a mission from start to finish rather than starting and finishing it only a couple of times and savescamming in between for like 5 hours to do challenges. That was't quite satisfying.

Nah, I like to get the difficult stuff out of the way first, then have fun with disguises and other execution methods after I've got that out of the way. Makes for a much more liberating experience, kind of a reward for putting in the hard work.

So glad I picked up this game on the recent Steam sale. I'm seriously surprised at just how good it is, not just because of how disinterested I've been of the series for many years, but due to how much thought and attention to detail that has been put into the level design options available to achieve a wide range of objectives.

Hey everybody!
Good news:

I'd gladly pay for that to keep IOI in greenbacks while they develop the next season, but it looks like it's free! Woohoo!
Edit: (
https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-goty-edition-announcement/) Actually, not free. GOTY upgrade will cost $20 for people who already own the game, while the full GOTY will cost newcomers $60. Still worth it!
It'll also be nice to re-visit the Elusive Targets and hopefully not bungle them this time.
Although my first attempt did give me one of may favourite stories related to the game:
The target was Etta James, AKA "The Angel of Death". She was in Marrakesh to take advantage of the turbulent atmosphere. She's a little old lady who looks like butter wouldn't melt, known for using poison to dispatch her targets while inviting them to afternoon tea.
Upon starting the mission, I quickly spotted her and followed her path through the back alleys, noting that she regularly headed back to a residence out of the hustle and bustle, but always attended by guards.
Conveniently, I spotted a power distribution 4-way outside of said residence, that was in the path of a water hose. I scouted the area and found the screwdriver I would need to expose the wires so that when I turned on the tap, the resulting puddle would be electrified, and Grandma would go zap while on her noon-day stroll.
With my diabolical plan in place, all I needed to do was execute it. I waited for her to pass me with her retinue and enter the residence, then swiftly walked over to the 4-way to perform the required murderous modification.
And 47 went ZAP and dropped like a sack of shit.
I'd forgotten to turn off the socket first.
