After doing the last Skaal quest and defeating Hircine, I ended up with Hircine's ring, which (I recall from Daggerfall) lets you become a werewolf whenever you like. I equipped it and duly turned into a werewolf- but how do I take it off? I can't get into the inventory while in wolf form.
Also, my son's game is crashing every time he does the werewolf cure quest- I haven't done it myself, but I think it happens when he tries to talk to the Glenmoril witch- will the BM patch fix this?

Don't you turn human again during the day, like normal? Then you'd just have to take off the ring that way. I'm not sure if Hircine's Ring leaves you inflicted with the werewolf disease permanently or not, since I've never really used it.
Not sure about your other problem. Sorry...

The ring turns you into a Werewolf for 24 hours, iirc.
I'm not sure if the latest patch fixes the Werewolf cure quest, but you should use it anyway! ;)

Wow, the Hircine Ring. I can't wait to play Bloodmoon... meanwhile, as I recall from Daggerfall, the Ring allowed one to have all the positive effects of being a werewolf (a big stats boost and some skills boosted) without the negatives (suddenly having only 4 hit points, having to run around in werewolf form and kill before being able to heal up from those 4 hp). You could still use the Lycanthropy spell to change to wolf form if you wanted but the Ring meant you never, ever had to actually become the beast unless you wanted to. I bet it's similar for Bloodmoon.
