You're missing my point...
You're rather plainly missing everyone else's.

...the interpretation doesn't fit what the document actually says.
It does. Thus the ESL comments.

So taking that into account, where does "separation of church and state" come from?
 What part of congress shall make no law are you not understanding, exactly? Perhaps the part where that is, in essence, the near totality of what congress does (making laws)? And therefore, when the constitution says congress shall make no law it effectively means that congress shall not act on the basis of religion?
This is NOT difficult stuff, here. You're basically asking, "the constitution says 2+2, where are you getting 4 from?"

While I may not be as legally qualified as our own JUDGE DREDDBJ, doesn't it seem... well, just a LITTLE odd that you're disagreeing with a judge/judges on the interpretation of a most definitely legal document?

So, did everyone miss what my actual point was or am I just stupid?
My point was if we nominate Hillary we're actually securing a win for McCain, if the dems nominate Hillary I hope they like loosing (again).

I think McCain would have wiped the floor with Gore 8 years ago. I think today, Gore could wipe the floor with McCain - as noted, the amount the number of times he's spouted the Neocon party line has SEVERELY undermined his credibility.
The fact that Gore probably has more support than any of the possible Dem Candidates speaks to how lame a race it is.
The fact that Gore has the intelligence to not run again speaks to the fact that he probably IS the best guy.
And as for the whole "OBAMA IS IDEOLOGICALLY MUSLIM" thing - (
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp) Snopes calls bullshit. The fact that Fox fears him enough to spout this stuff does speak to his apparent power, though. And his weakness.
Remember Dean? Got an early lead, and the media, the Democrats and the Republicans all pounced on him. Obama is getting too popular too soon - they're going to eat him for dinner if he throws his hat into the ring.
Obama's other big strength/weakness is that he's very popular with the youth (I should know - seems like half the people I know are in "Barack Obama for President!" Facebook groups). The youth are the most untapped voting element there is - if you can get them to go out and vote, you gain a LOT of votes. That said, no one else has - and so if your support is primarilly among people who don't even bother to vote, well, sucks to be you. Either way, he'll need a weak Republican candidate. Not that is in any way unlikely - are there any popular Republicans left who have managed to both avoid corruption and becoming too close to Bush without alienating the core Republican voters?
Fuck, I don't know why I'm writing about this stuff. This race is exhausting me already and election day is nearly 2 years away - at this rate, they're gonna drive ME into not voting*.
*not really, but I sure empathize with my fellow younguns.

It could be all of the above. But I agree with your point. The Dems better have somebody hot up their sleeve b/c they are essentially the 'default' party right now. I don't think anyone loves them more than the Republicans, I think we're just sick of everyone's shit in general. Which in turns means they're not guaranteed a win in 2008, so hopefully they don't get cocky and nominate Barney the dinosaur (or Hillary) thinking it's in the bag. As bad the Republicans have screwed the pooch, I won't put it past the Dems to blow this one again.

Second problem.
I think we're safe.

I recently learned of a phenomenon called the "Bradley Effect," and if what happened to Harold Ford Jr. is any indication, Obama's chance to win is probably slim to none. Let's face it, folks. This is still white America.

The (

In other developments, Fox News is still a pus-filled boil on the arsehole of world journalism :nono:
It should be noted that the material was sent to them from Hilary's camp.
Doesn't excuse them for running with it, of course. Nor does it mean that there's not a political agenda involved, I suspect the right would like to face Hilary far more than Obama.
EDIT: Or (
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/22/obama.madrassa/index.html) maybe not. A cunning double smear? This is why I love following US politics. :D

The Democrats I know seem to loathe Hillary and like Obama. I doubt either one will actually get the nomination, though. Maybe Edwards, but more likely one of those governors whose names I can't remember.

Barack Obama, more like David Palmer.
