There's a bit of that, more specifically the fly spinning out in destruction is a direct homage to Sebulba's pod-racer crash in Episode 1 and the cinematography (even sound effects) of the low flying sequence and the logs are quite obviously referencing the Endor Forest Moon speeder chase!

I watched the video last night. Great design, excellent visuals, completely disjointed storytelling. It's cute, but it felt like they were making it up as they went along.

Meh. Since this short runs out of ideas and repeats itself halfway through, I don't see how they hope to make a series out of it.
