It's been a long time!
I always assumed you'd just been too busy working at Arkane (plus the "no modding" clause), and that was why you didn't come here any more.
Never knew you weren't happy in yourself at the time, but then we only ever talked about DromEd back then.
Hadn't even occurred to me before, but you went from working on The Nine Year Sleep, a Thief campaign about a stealthy magic-user, to Dishonored, a game about a stealthy magic-user.
They even both involved tricking other characters into working against each other (in some of DH's non-lethal paths.)

Welcome back!! I don't imagine we ever spoke much previously but I'm glad to know there are more folks who came out since we originally joined. I came out as trans femme myself sometime in 2017.
But to be very honest a moment I never really got into the Thief FM scene :erm:. I spent most of my time hanging out in the SS2 channels. That might have to change though because, pardon my fangirling, Clockwork Mansion was so fucking amazing! It's really cool know talented folks from TTLG who've gone on to greater things.
Anyway, I hope your stay is pleasant and long.

Hey Dana! <3 Like NV I kinda assumed you'd drifted away due to work and whatnot, but of course all the rest must have been a big weight (don't I know it!).
TTLG was the first place I publicly came out to and I have to say that it was thanks to you that I considered it a safe space to do so. I'm so happy of its diversity and inclusiveness.
Also I totally need to visit Lyon again.

Answering some questions and general replies ---
Most of my explanations for why I left TTLG weren't true. It was all convenient excuses to cover up how unwelcome I felt here. It was easier to say "I am not allowed because job xyz" than the truth. But like, I don't blame anyone? I 100% mean that. I'd also have not wanted to be around the me from 1998 - 201X. That was a lost being.
I wasn't super worried about the safeness or not of this forum but I am extremely happy to see you all saying that it is safe. I've been doing fine on Twitter so I figured I could withstand whatever the tone was here. I am so glad my distant transness had a positive impact on any of you and I teared up reading your messages. It means so much to me that I could have helped in any way. I am going to keep Digital Nightfall but I'd love to get rid of "The Architect" as a subtitle. I'd prefer to replace it with "she/her ⚧" if any mod or admin is reading this. ♥
The similarity between the Nine Year Sleep project and Dishonored hit me during my interview with Arkane in 2010. :D Yes I am still in the gaming biz. I'm still at Arkane Lyon, but no longer a level designer, but part of the design direction team. It's cool as fuck. :cool:
