Hi TTLG.
It's been too long.
I really grew to fear this place; what it meant to me and what it was.
Now I am in a state where fear is a bit less common, and I am slowly becoming less afraid of a lot of things.
So, I am here to say hi.
This place was important to me and it never stopped being important.
But the entire time I was here, I never knew who I was, and I could never really be myself, so I could never really be much more than a weird sort-of lie of a person. It was uncomfortable.
A lot has happened since then. A lot of sad things, some terrible, some complicated, but in general things that kept me away for a very long time. But there were also things that were true and pure and good and healing, which made me think-- It's ok to come back, even if it's just to show up and say "hi."
So here I am, saying hi again, not Digi Nightfall, but Dana Nightingale, she/her. ⚧

Hey! Nice to see you around.
It's definitely a lot quieter and more mellow around here now.
I have an idea some of your fear might be thinking about the TTLG of 2007 or thereabouts, at least in CommChat when it was a lot more intense. But I think most of us are old hats that have known each other forever now and I guess bitch about politics and new tech. Definitely I think we're on the inclusive side of the coin and try to be supportive of our trans members and diversity generally, sans the occasional Eva rant in GenGaing, although I don't want to speak for anyone. I try to be.
I had the idea one of the main things that led you away was that you weren't really allowed to mod anymore, and that was one of your major links to the community. Not just that you couldn't anymore, but you'd already put out these really big FM projects, T2 was already an aging platform 15 years ago, and your day job was level design in our mold, so it's not like you needed to be doing it as your side hustle anymore. Happily though I think there's still a place for just chatting here and about games in GenGaming. Well it can be whatever you'd like it to be. Like I said, we're all pretty mellow nowadays.

Well, now there's at least three people that have transitioned here at TTLG. Could you please just keep your nickname the same because it's getting confusing to keep track of who's who as I get older? :joke:

Hey Dana - welcome back! :)
Digital Nightfall on 20/7/2023 at 07:32
It's nice to see how active it still is, honestly. I'm pleasantly surprised. And I can tell that it's a bit calmer. :)
Don't worry, I won't change the name. It's not me anymore but I don't dislike it or anything. It's fine to continue to exist here.

Howdy, Dana! :) I do believe you were in a thread in GenGaming a while back, probably had something to do with Arkane/Dishonored. Regardless, glad to have you around here. Cheers!

Hallo, Dana. Welcome back! Seconding everything dema said, it's quieter but also calmer (relatively). There is the odd numbnut, but then that's anywhere, really.

Welcome back Dana, good to hear you're in a place where you're less afraid! This should be a relative safe space for you though the possibility of the odd nutjob posting can't be discounted entirely.
