Obviously I don't know you enough to have an opinion about this. But your own conviction that you will always be objective in this job doesn't say much. Everyone thinks they have a realistic assessment of a situation. If that was the case we could let the victims judge the offenders. And even if you're not a judge, your decisions will be relied upon by judges and juries.
What your colleagues think is another matter. I hope they're right.
