OMG. Just found out about the demise of LGS after reading your mail. All I can say is it's a sad, sad day for gamers as a whole. Those guys consistently made groundbreaking, original, let's face it
brilliant masterpieces, and this is the thanks they get from Eidos.
Capitalism claims two more victims, LGS and originality. As one LGS employee said, "I guess we should have just done some dumbass 'Millionaire' games or something."
Plus it's now looking even more likely that we'll
never see an Underworld III. There's just no justice in the world

I think not doing an Underworld III killed Looking Glass!
Looking Glass started out doing medieval RPGs, and wasted too much time doing futuristic games (sure, SystemShock was supposedly pretty good... but that should have been the extent of that type of game).

Your point about LG not coming out with a UU3 game is well taken, BUT System Shock is a classic in it's own right and gamers everywhere would be poorer if it had not been developed and released!

Terra Nova is meant 2 be good and Shock2 is brilliant...I think that UW3 would have had more ready made fan than thief where people didnt think it would be good until they played it and loved it and maybe UW3 should have been higher in priority but the money was with Origin/EA mostly I read an article by Dan Thron somewhere which said that Shock and Underworld profit shares were more with Origin/EA...................
