Watched it all again at work today (I had a slow day) and.... [SPOILER]I wasn't expecting Ted to end up with eaten brains. Since Ted is out of the running for making New York go boom and the future shock parts show Peter and Sylar duking it out, exactly who is it who makes the big bang happen and how do they survive unless they have Claire's healing power. But that can't happen... so what the fruiting assmonkeys is going to happen.[/SPOILER]

Awesome episode. DL reaching into Lindermann's head and taking out an ice cream scoop of his brain was fucking awesome.
I too wasn't expecting to see Ted get Sylar'd, but it was a very cool moment when it happened - speaking of cool, George Takei is the man. :cool:
It's all very confusing though. The Goverment Agency in league with Lindermann and several other special people (like Mama Petrelli and shapeshifter chick) honestly believe in a future that is better after a massive nuclear explosion in NYC, despite other special people who can actually see the future and are telling them that it isn't so. I can't help but feel there's another force at play here, someone who's orchestrating all of this with some intentions other than what has been revealed so far.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2URkML6hx8) As we can see in the dreaded preview for the finale, Peter and Sylar face off and in doing so, I think Claire steps in to prevent Peter from being killed only to be killed herself by Sylar. After this, I think Peter loses control of his emotion and in a rage, destroys New York City.
It seems Hiro cannot kill Sylar since we see him experiencing the original moment again, in the room with the cops turning to face the explosion, therefore we can only assume Ando dies.
Mama Petrelli is going to reveal some big secret regarding their father, I'll bet.

The only flaw with that is Claire pretty clearly can't die, as long as the killing object is removed from her brain etc
