Steelers 21, Seahawks 10
Well, you called it. :thumb:
Seattle was getting so frustrated ... playing so well but not getting points. A Seattle non-touchdown that looked like a lot like a touchdown. A Steelers touchdown that didn't look like a touchdown. The 4-in-a-row-wammny (controversial offensive foul, big sack, interception, controversial defensive foul) that took them from their own 1 to Steelers on the 40. And f-ing up the final drive at the half and at the end. :tsktsk: Karma had it out for them.
Anyway, yea Steelers!!
and ps, the Rolling Stones have not aged well. I was getting sincerely worried with him running around in circles like that!

What do you guys think the quintessential city of the 00s is?
After 9/11 NYC was so sure it was going to be city of the decade; the whole world was sympathetic with it, it was a bid for the olympics ... but then business in lower Manhattan didn't come back, whatever world sympathy 9/11won was overshadowed by perceieved excesses in the war on terror, and they got spanked in the Olympid bids.
If the 80s was Reagan, Bruce Springstien, triumph of the blue collar common man, and the 90s was Clinton, Internet, triumph of the angst ridden little guy, Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins ... the 00s are, Bush II (who is no Ronald Reagan), a culture of heroes, fear and homeland security, superficial glitz-pop trash, ugh, triumph of the fattest most insular/complacent generation since the 50s?
I say
Houston ... home of Compaq and the 00s spiritual successors of the 90s computer rev, DeLay and the 00s dark side of politics/the 90s Rep Revolution, & Enron and the 00s dark side of 90s corporate boom ... and most importantly fattest city of the 1/2-decade.

Nicley done. It's no wonder I just lost $100.

COME AND GET YOU BROWN AND BUBBLY
Agreed on the questionable calls, but the best team won. Seattle was a train wreck in the second half.

The important thing to me was that my Seahawks finally made it to the big dance. They won their first conference title, and now they are Super Bowl blooded. If they can keep this team together, next year just might bring the whole deal. That said, while I was willing to accept a clean loss with no hard feelings, this was not a clean loss. The officials should be ashamed of themselves.

I wish it had been...now I'll have to go to school and hear my teacher who doubles as the football coach bitch about it all day long.

Go Iggles
(Steelers 5, Eagles 0)
Also: Flipped and burning cars, riot police on horseback, screaming drunks, helicopters with searchlights. Why does my apartment have to face the street? Guess I'm not sleeping tonight

After that travesty of reffing in the first half the Seahawks momentum didn't have anywhere to go but down. Every decent drive was stopped by, at best, a questionable call.
I don't begrudge the Steelers their win but that game was lame and the blame doesn't lie with the teams.

Fuck T. O. (But McNabb is cool... and for the record, F the NAACP of the greater philly area for just fanning flames and making the Eagles worse.)
All that bein' said, I'm a Redskin's fan, and Seattle sent my boy's home. Add to that, that I'm an east coaster... and Pittsburgh had to win in my book. All along I was saying that Hines Ward would make the difference because 'the bus' would be held steady. But ooooh noooo. I had friends of mine that had to test me and bet against it. "Shaun Alexander will..."
Bah. I told these idiots that it would be a defense game, and the only way to win would be to take to the air. And now, I'm a fist full of dollar's richer. Thank you morons in my circle for betting with your heart instead of your brain. :thumb:
[edit] Fun factoid: Dan Marino went to the big show, but couldn't get it locked up. Marino was the youngest QB to go to the superbowl, but I believe this makes Ben Roethlisberger the youngest man to actually
win it. [/edit]

Seahawks fans need to
A) Quit whining. The calls that went against them could have gone either way, but there was NOTHING egregious.
B) Realize that, like the '98 Falcons, '99 Titans and '02 Raiders, their team just peaked and they're not even going to sniff the Super Bowl again for a while.
