Soundsl like you may have a resolution that your card or monitor doesn't support selected in ddfix?
Make sure to choose a resolution that is given to you as an option in the display control panel.
Also, did you use GUI ddfix, manual ddfix or a pre-patched exe?
i selected 800 x 600, the highest it gave me to choose in options (in game)
i have no idea what the gui ddfix is?
(i know gui is graphic user interface but not as it relates to ddfix)
i also don't know what you mean by manual ddfix.
(oh, you mean the one that requires a bunch of file work be done?)
as far as it running in window and with hardware off after i installed the ddfix patch - it was the pre-patched one i think, the one that said it was for tech noobs like me!

Change the resolution in ddfix.ini and cam.cfg. Maybe your video card or monitor doesn't support 800x600 (rare, but happens)
Try 1024x768, or the resolution you have your monitor set to normally.

i DID dl and install the ddfix (pre-patched), but i don't see a ddfix.ini in my Thief folder!
and a search of my hd came up with no ddfix.ini either!

Here's the manual DDFix (

Ok, I think I see the what's going on now. Just extract the two files to your Thief folder. Now the prepatched Thief.exe should work ok with no warnings because the dll file the new exe file is looking for is there. You probably already know, but make sure the resolution in DDFix.ini Cam.cfg match.
