I installed Deus Ex a month or so ago and it's been working fine. I got up to after the first part of Versalife, and to Tong's base, but it wont load again when I try to get out of the base. It just crashes.
here's the error I get: (

Any help would be great.. I've had this problem for 3 days and I re-installed, but that did nothing and I'm pretty pissed off

had a similar bug before.try running in software mode witl as low detail as possible to pass the problematic part.you can try loading an older savegame as well.

Well, I re-did part of the Versalife level, and I lowered my settings, and I got past that, but now I can't even load the Market. Anything else I CAN load, it's just that Market. I know I have to go back there one more time at least until I'm done with the mission.
Err with software mode, you mean safemode right?

I think he means software rendering.
See if its set that way and change it.

Oh, I actually got that problem at the loading to Hell's Kitchen after I had switched sides, but it was at a time my PC had a lot of problems. I thought it was specific to me. I'll try that tonight then :thumb:

Well, I tried it and it was EXTREMELY laggy in the menu and I couldnt get to options... I'm not sure maybe it was my MSN being open... I'll go try it again with everything closed, but I'm not sure it will help that much because MSN doesn't take up that much usage on a computer.

Ok, again, it's extremely laggy, and I don't even wanna try loading a game. It uses SO MUCH detail on the logos and everything. I changed everything that related to graphics to low, and it didnt help... anything else? I have a Radeon 9600 btw, if that helps at all, it should be running fine with this game
DaBeast on 20/2/2006 at 06:35
Post up your system specs including what drivers your running.
I can't see how the game itself ran well while the options screen runs everything down.
It sounds like you're tryin to defreg your hard drive while playing (imo not)
Edit: ok radeon, well I don't know alot about them, apart from shit driver support. How much ram do you have and what processor. It could be just some hardware conflict that may not be fixable. But if it worked and now doesnt??? Have you changed any drivers lately?

Could be a fucked level/script/savegame, or something that's otherwise corrupted. Try backing up your savegames and reinstalling DX.

Did that.
And the rendered didn't work at all, all of the game was laggy, not just the menu.
