OK thanks alot Bjossi. I thought Winrar was a more advanced version of Winzip, I guess not.
I'll read the FAQ for "Mod Ready". I installed the necessary Patch that isn't
referring to Mod Ready, right ? Thanks.

Now I'm a little confused Bjossi (as you can see,it doesn't take much).
"I'm using the Rebirth mod and my weapons/characters don't show? AKA How to make your install Mod Friendly.
Create a new folder inside the shock2 one called res.
Move all the files ending in .crf to the newly created folder.
Open up install.cfg from the shock2 folder using notepad.
Alter the resname_base line to include the new folder. For example resname_base c:\games\shock2\+d:\shock2 would become resname_base c:\games\shock2\res+d:\shock2
Save the file!
Unzip the rebirth zip file to the a folder called mesh inside the Shock 2 folder. (this step is for Rebirth only) "
This is the area of the LINK you provided. Do I really need to make the Game MOD READY ? Is the Mod Ready activity neccessary to head off any potential problems with the MOD after installation ? I'm not having any problems with the Game (so far) playing on XP OS.
It seems in the FAQ that this person is having "running issues". Could I just install the MOD without making it "Ready" and see if problems pop- up ? I suppose you're saying to make it Mod Ready is the way to go.

To be honest I'm not really sure why you need to make the game mod-ready, but yes, it is necessary. Otherwise you'd run into lots of trouble.

Because otherwise the custom content will completely override all default content. The default content will no longer be available for use.

I see thanks Kolya for pointing that out.

the neccessity for this Bjossi. I had no idea this was neccessary until you happened to mention it. So, hopefully this will save me a lot of grief. Thanks for the confirmation "Nameless".
