Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has any advice for this bug... it's currently put me off playing MW until a patch is released.
The bug is as follows:
If I have my Strength above 100 through buffs or enchantments and I get a strength debuff, through spells, diseases or curses, I can only ever regen my total strength to 100, not to the level that the buffs should take it. I should always be able to regen my base strength to 100.
Example:
I have base strength 100. I apply enchanted armor and get to 136. I get a disease that drops my strength to 96. This means my base strength has been debuffed to 60. I can drink all the potions I like but I can only get my base strength back up to 100 including the buffs.
However, if I take off all my strength enchanting items (almost everything I am wearing), I can then cast restore and get back up to 100, re-equip the items and get back up to 136.
The problem is not so much the strength needing to be buffed to 136, it's that I constantly get "you are oven encumbered" because of the debuffs. Strip, restore, re-equip.
*sigh*
This happens about every 30 minutes of game play and it got so annoying that I just stopped playing the game.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Try going to a Temple and getting the disease cured instead.

Tried to go to a shrine / temple - same result as trying casting or using an enchanted item.
Thanks for the idea, but unfortunately that was also bugged.

Sorry, Eggman, I don't have a solution for you. But, I have also experienced it, and experienced it an awful lot. It seems strength is one of the most hit by grave curses.
The thing that concerns me is the devs may not even think it's a bug. Perhaps that is the way it is supposed to work. I definitely think it's a bug, and if not, something that should be fixed anyway. But, I wonder if there is some sort of "roleplaying logic" to it working out the way it does.
Best thing I can think of is cast resist curse/disease when you come upon the critters that can debuff you. And, I too, hope they fix it, because it is very annoying.

I can think of two workarounds:
1) Use the console (tilde key) and type player->SetStrength 136
2) Wear an enchanted item with feather 180, that will allow you to carry the same extra weight as 36 strength.
Not really bugfixes but at least you can keep playing. :)

This is an issue with how the restore effects consider your attributes. It's likely unintentional though. Just run like hell whenever you see a Bonewalker. ;)
