Help... unsure about re-install... - by TR_Wolf

Hi everyone.
I have Oblivion on my PC on drive D, but my partner wants to install Vista on the PC, which currently runs XP. Im fine with that, but he's worried that he will lose his saved games and settings, despite them being on a seperate drive (D), as Vista should just affect C drive.
Well do you know if there's any way for us to preserve our settings and saved games if we have to reinstall Oblivion onto Vista?
Many thanks!

Er.... copying the folder to CD? :erm:
All your savegames are at C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion even if the game itself was installed to D drive. Make sure this folder is moved from drive C.

Thanks very much, very helpful! We'll try that now! :)

Isn't it a bit early to be planning it? I didn't think Vista was out until December.

It would be nice if we were asked to choose location for that folder as well.... My C drive is so full...:(

Isn't My Documents a movable folder? It certainly was under Win98.

Well actually, I installed the game to my D drive, but Id already made my D:\ version of My Documents as my default My Documents folder, so it saved the save games there! No backup needed!
