Hi guys, i'm wondering if you can help me out here.
I've recently got Invisible War. It installed fine. Then it wouldn't load the game up beyond the main menu. Fair enough I say, so I download and install both patches (up to 1.2), download the latest drivers for my system, get direct X 9.0b etc. etc.
Still won't load.
Now, my computer can run the likes of Far Cry and Halo with no problems whatsoever. I've got a Athlon 64 processor, GeForce FX 5900 Ultra graphics card and Audigy 2 soundcard. I've got 256mb RAM and an 80GB hard drive. Every game I put on works fine.
But, as I'm sure you can understand, I REALLY want to play Invisible War. No matter what i do, it exits back to my desktop with an error message that vanishes before I can read it properly the moment the intro cutscene finishes and it tries to load map 1.
I checked the Readme and the only problem that sounded like mine was to do with something called "Activesync" - I searched my computer and I do have a folder called that in my program files, but it's only like three files that don't do anything when clicked on and besides, even when I delete them the same thing happens.
I'm getting pretty frustrated, and if anyone can give me a tip that'll get the thing to load up then i'd be extremely grateful. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but maybe this thread will help them as well.
Thanks anyway,
King Ronald

If you have the European version of IW, its already patched to 1.2. DO NOT install the patches on the European versions, apparently you get some nasty errors. If its the US version????????

I had a similar problem with the game initially, where it would hang whenever it tried to load a level. I solved it by temporarily disabling my antivirus software and my firewall. I never bothered to find out which one of them was causing the problem, if not both. Anyway, it may be worth a try.

Thanks guys!
I reinstalled the game and only put the 1.2 patch on it, not both, and made sure Norton Antivirus was turned off, and it works great!
So far I've only messed around in Upper Seattle, but it's a fine game - quality "scientists spying on you in the shower" plot twists, fetish traders and shotgun-toting dog-robots.
Well done Ion Storm!
- and the HUD is nowhere near as bad as I feared it would be
Once more, thanks for the advice!
