Take out the disk and wait for the xbox symbol the come up. Then select memory and then go to morrowinds save file. Delete all your games and start new because they might be corupted anyway. Also you could get a cottonball an rub the disk with it to clean it.

Assuming you haven't installed anything new, Jtldemonseed's point re: cleaning the disk is a good one; also check if you have any new scratches on the important side of it, and if so then get one of those 'CD buffing' plastic gadgets from your local CompUSA/Best Buy/Fry's Electronics/watever. (small scratches parallell to the tracks can really fubar things)

nope, not a scratch and it still does it

Even when viewed at an angle under a bright light? Bugger... well, I guess you've gotta go through the usual song & dance then. The uninstall/backup saves/delete morrowind dir/reinstall cha-cha sometimes works, and if it doesn't but you can still run other first-person games, then try and remember what you installed recently that may have jinxed it. Good luck :p

i guess by important side you mean the clear one? the side with the acryla is much more important because its the side with the data on it....

Yup, that's what I meant ;)

have you installed any new programs lately?
or done any HDD maintenance (defrags or scandisks)
anything you can think of that you have done during the last time you played it sucessfully.
it may even be a virus
also, if you have virus protection ie nortons, disable it before you play.
it not only slows down ANY game you play, but it can also lead to crashes.
(i had an encounter with nortons making C&C Renegade go absolutely nuts when auto protect was enabled. as soon as i turned it off, no crashes, and a (honestly) 300% increase in loading times)
its a nasty program when it comes to games.
otherwise, backup your savegames, and reinstall the game from scratch.

"it is ridiculous claiming that video games and internet influence children. For instance, if Pac-man affected kids born in the eighties, we should by now have a bunch of teenagers who run around in darkened rooms and eat pills while listening to monotonous electronic music."

Just thought of one more thing... depending on their depth, scratches on the painted side can affect a CD's ability to work. I'm not certain about the geometries (if someone knows I'm wrong, correct me?), but I've heard that the data on a CD can be protected by only a fairly thin layer of plastic that's then covered by the paint/decals/whatever. In other words, if you scratch thru the painted side deep enough, it can screw up the data.
