First, all my drivers are up to date and I have been playing Deadly Shadows for years - no problem whatsoever with anything. All of a sudden, when the title page comes up, the cursor is frozen but if I move my mouse I can see it lighting up different words. The cursor just stays in place.
Can't play at all anymore!!:nono:

Can you actually make selections on the menu? Try using the arrow keys. If you can navigate the menu without the mouse, it should be fine.

This may happen when the Windows font size has been set to something larger than Normal, so try experimenting with that. On my Win8 laptop it works fine at Medium size, but if I set it to Larger then the problem will appear. IIRC this issue is also more likely to appear at low resolutions.
A very clumsy work-around is to switch to windowed mode (Alt-Enter) when you need to move the mouse pointer, and then switch back.

Yes I can' do that but it makes for very clumsy gameplay - thanks anyway!

What? I'm afraid I don't follow. Is this just in the menu, or are you having trouble in the actual game?
