Some woman keeps shouting "Help Me" down in the crypts on level 7.
How do you open that portcullis or the door across from it?
I haven't found a key or a switch and I can't lockpick the door even after being "Blessed".

The Queen's murder. I suppose I'm Harrison Ford playing "The Fugitive"
and looking for a one-eyed man. Well, if he was here before, he's gone
now and I've looked everywhere. Where is he?

Crystal Caves? What Crystal Caves? Is that the Dwarf area that I just
got into?
________________________________________________________
Dragon? What dragon? Anybody seen a dragon? Maybe just an egg?

Also, how do you use "Enchant Object"? I haven't made it work yet
and I don't see any reason to keep it a secret.

Forget the hints, give me a straight spoiler or two.
Thanks,

use levitate to cross the pit where you've found Grue fishing, all the way at the top of this area you'll find what you need..Quote:

The only use I found was after I used the dragons egg on the mithrill sword

For enchant object, several reagents are mentioned in the Ultimate weapon book (Amikar's Rock, Bone Dust, Garlic, etc... also Golems hearts work). Simply combine the reagent with the weapon and it'll glow. Then cast enchant object on the glowing object & the effect will stick, but the description will NOT change (except Amikar's rock).
balrog666 on 7/1/2003 at 00:32
Thanks, but that's what I thought.
Not only does the description not change, neither do your stats when you use the enchanted object.
So I don't see it working at all which is pretty stupid.

Thanks for the hints and spoilers.
I found one-eye. Every other time I came back he was gone.
I didn't think that he might just be on duty. Arg.
Found the Dragon's Lair I think. But I don't want to use up all
my Levitate scrolls yet. I need 500 XP to gain another level
and get all the Levitate I need. Maybe I'll go kill some golems
or trolls or goblins or something.
Nothing in the Crystal Caves, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
And I still can't shut that screaming bitch up.
Oh, well.

Well, watch your stats when you equip the items, the will change (drag and release a couple of times on your character to see)
Here's the effects:
Bone Dust = +1 Str
Garlic = +1 Agility
Amikar's Rock = Unbreakable
Golem Heart = Paralysis when it hits an enemy
And uh... can't remember the other reagent, though RPGdot has a full list
As for the dragon...
Once you levitate once, you can use fireballs to blast appropriate columns and not need to levitate again (except for some extra treasures)
Here's the effects:
Then the spell must fail everytime (without telling me so) because
my stats don't change when I use Garlic or Bone Dust. I haven't tried
the other ingredients because I don't care about their effects.
And I did find the right Crystal Caves and the Dragon area.
Still no way to get to the screamer or the room across from her.
Also, I've given up on Oliver's Treasure - money seems to be utterly worthless after about character level 3.

Here's a run-down...
1) Use Garlic on Sword (Normal, non-magical sword, not Mythril or Meteor)
2) Am Shagaer will say something like "now this is interesting" and the sword will be green
3) Cast Enchant object on the sword, or use a scroll then use the spell. You'll get an audio cue when it works, otherwise it'll sound like a failed spell
4) Try equipping the sword and check the stats.
If you're not sure, do a test enchant with Amikar's rock, it's easy to tell when THAT works
Btw: Paralysis is a totally kickass effect for a sword, at least try it once :)

I haven't seen a game scripted this badly since Lands of Lore 2. Screw the company who published it and everybody involved in the design and programming of it.
How did anybody get through this POS without a walkthrough and disassembling the maps? I am so happy that it's uninstalled now and I am contemplating throwing it onto my fireplace grill in disgust rather than even giving it away to another sucker.
For example:
Money is useless. So treasure is useless, so gathering extra weapons and material is useless. The best sword in the game (until the last 5 minutes) is for sale in the blacksmith's store the first time you go there. It was the first thing I bought and I used it until the last 5 minutes I played. What a complete waste.
Nightvision has it's own asinnine and annoying sound effect. Why? Was it supposed to be some kind of mega-sensory-enhancement? If so, it failed because it doesn't boost the other sounds in the game. Did this effect really pass beta testing?
70% of the skills are useless.
Stealth? Useless.
Repair a weapon? Worse than useless.
Ethereal Link? Useless. There are no surprises in the game!
Object knowledge? Utterly useless. Anything worth identifying is cursed. BFD!
Ranged weapons? There is only one and it sucks. Screw the Inut-Easter Egg one too.
Spell casting? Great implementation but the only spell ever worth using is Fireball. (Because it deals out damage in proportion to your level). "Enchant Object" only works on weapons. Why, you dumbasses? Why not call the scroll "Enchant Weapon" then???? And even then, what's the point when when you can't make a sword as good as the first one you can buy???
The quest system can be screwed up just by exploring ahead of the script line. That's particularly awful and stupid. And when you figure that out and restart, it inhibits your exploration of the rest of the game. Several times I had to go back to level 1 and work my way down to see what I'd really missed. And what did I miss? Only useless treasure. Another waste of my time.
The puzzles have almost no clues! Clues, people, give us clues! Do you really think any casual gamer is going to waste 2 hours trying every combination to the idiot puzzles? Think again.
Sounds and subtitles. The cut scenes to advance the plot don't have subtitles or sounds half the time. WTF?? How did this POS get past alpha testing???
Oh, and Carlo is still walking around town at the same time he's in jail! WTF? Did somebody forget to check the script here?
Every other day I contemplated running back to level 1 and slaughtering every stinkin' SOB I could find while imagining that they were the developers and programmers. Of course, that wouldn't even get me another level so it too was a waste of time. I did slaughter all of the snake women and couldn't really tell the difference in the plot. BFD!
A word of advice to the developers: don't waste your time making any expansions or sequels. In fact, go find a real job! You got my money once, you won't get it again.

Thanks for your insight balrog...
I'll let everyone know the only line I am removing is the last line. The rest will remain.
