Help me find an 80s Rock Band

When I was a teenager, my brother-in-law had a cassette tape I listened to for quite some time. Well, my sister and he split, and I never saw the tape again.

Here's what I remember:
Album art has a staircase like you'd find in a building, but it was sorta outdoors like it was maybe in hell? I think the background was reddish with rocks and shit.

The most played song on there was the name of some girl. Perhaps sounding something like Carrie.

The group sorta sounded like Europe, but was not Europe. Shit. I'd remember it if I heard the song again. It received some play in the US, but I think it was a bigger seller overseas in Europe and Australia.

There were a lot of bands in those early 80s that sounded similar. I know it wasn't Europe, Night Ranger, Saga, Stryper, etc. I'll have to dig this shit up.

Nope - I just looked. Not Hardline or Red Sea. Also, the album cover doesn't sound like anything from Night Ranger or Stryper. Not famliar with Saga. Any idea about what year this was? Early or late 80's? Were they 'glammy' as in Posion or glammy as in Ratt ('dirty' glam)?
