Long story short - the editors at Wikipedia refuse to believe that SS2's Von Braun was named after the rocket scientist Von Braun unless I cite something. So, if someone could write such a line here in this thread, I can use it to cite the source. It's either that, or use one of those "This information was taken from Wikipedia" wikis.

You can tell them Spitter said that Von Braun is named after the rocket scientist :thumb:

If you take a look at the discussion page of the SS2 Wikipedia article you will see that we have been through this before. I know it sucks but there's nothing you can do about it. (Except guerilla tactics ...)
A forum entry won't be regarded as a valid source btw.

Just email Ken Levine at Irrational, outline the problem, and ask him to reply with a definitive answer so that you can wave it at the Wikipeople. And if they don't accept that they aren't going to accept anything... how much more of a citation can you get than personal confirmation from Ken Levine?
Hint: none more

If we can't find a solid reference for this, do we even know its true? And if it is true then there's got to be a place where it was written down right?

Well its pretty unlikely that a spaceship got named after the pioneer of rocket science by ACCIDENT.

We're talking about people who consider it a reasonable objection that the Rickenbacker might have been named after the guitars.
Bluegrime on 21/8/2006 at 22:30
So THATS why it felt so cramped on the Rickenbacker..

I've re-added that entry again, but it probably won't last long.
