Hey, is Arx Fatalis, the one the demo was just released for, has it been released, because I seem to have just bought a used copy, or have I shelled out money for the old version?
Help immediately, so I can cancel the order if I did.

FWIW, the German version is over two years old; the UK and US versions are only just on/coming up on two years old, and the final patch for all versions was released a little less than one year ago.
So no, Arx Fatalis is not a new release.
I don't know what demo is being referred to, but I'm fairly sure that there is no new demo floating around (neither the official site nor arx.rpgdot.com make mention of any such occurance).
What do you mean by (or what are you comparing with) "the old version" ?
Arx Fatalis 2 is under development, but Arkane aren't even talking about this one yet, let alone have the game finished or a demo version available!

I just got done typing a long winded explanation of my panic.
But it wouldn't post right, so I give up.
Anyway, everything is resolved, I will be playing ARX this time next week.

I got my Arx for free from GAME. I ordered it online and it was supposed to come with a "Bonus" cd but it didn't, so they sent me a voucher to spend in their store to the value of what I spent... Nice chaps. Still haven't bothered playing it past the first couple of hours though... should I?

I have been playing today - I started again. I think I'll give it a proper go this time.
[SPOILER]I have just arrived in some caves after the castle attack area with all the dead knight type dudes and I was killed by a bloody great insect thingy. :D [/SPOILER]
Trying to get the brightness and luminosity right in the video options is also a challenging game in itself - I find myself altering it from level to level to try and get it right!
Anyway, as I say, I'm gonna give it a good go and may even complete it if it grips me enough. :)
