Really. I don't know if you people have this problem or not, but I seem to be unable to stop collecting stuff then selling it. Even when I don't need any more money at all, I'm just unable to leave stuff behind. I collect every single object, then drag corpses around loaded with stuff to sell to traders or other stalkers. I collected 300+ artifacts in the chest inside the mobile lab. I'm selling loafs of bread and sausages and bandages to other stalkers. Yesterday, for instance, and despite having nearly 1.500.000 Ru, I went to the Red Forest and after completing my objectives I backtracked and collected every single item in the level (including the ones from inside the X19 lab) and put them all in a stash at the start of the level. Today I know that I'll painfully transfer them to the Army Warehouse, then to the Bar to sell them all. And the worse part is that I obviously don't need any more money. I think that I probably spend more time dragging corpses around than doing other kinds of stuff in the game.
So, am I the only one with this stupid behaviour, or does someone else wastes his time doing this?

I think Stalker devs could learn from console game devs and add possibility to buy some cool and costly equipment that would become available only after you "cleared" the game once :)
As for me, I usually play games quite thoroughly and pick up, use etc. whatever I can.

Well, I believe that freeplay will be like that.

That sort of consoley meta-gaming make me want to punch the people responsible. "Unlockables" exist for no other reason than to make games seem more replayable, by exploiting the OCD gotta-catch-em-all instinct of some gamers.

Yes, but I find it funny, why not? It's not like it takes something from you if you don't want to replay a game. And if you want, noone forces you to buy or use bonuses.
In RE4 f.e., bonus weapons are fun to use on second run-through.

yeah i cant stand to do "errands" like that, it gets repetetive to me so i try to avoid back and forth gameplay

I made a habit of collecting and selling artifacts way past the point where I actually needed the money, but by the time I was ready to move into Freedom base, I'd got past the urge to grab everything else. My own personal obsession was setting up stashes of guns, ammo and armor at pretty much every STALKER-populated location until I reached Monolith territory. No matter where I went, I was ready for a fight.
Also, repeated cockpunches to whoever suggested the STALKER devs could learn something from console games.

I always tell myself that by the time I reach the Army Warehouse I'll have enough money and stop obsessing about selling stuff. But then I see all those wonderful expensive weapons lying around and I can't resist :p
I finally decided to move into Pripyat yesterday, and currently I have nearly 1.8M Ru. I'm still considering backtracking, gathering all the items I find there, and move them to the Bar area to sell them.

Okay, yeah, that's a bit freakish. I think the closest I ever came to that level of "retrieve and sell" obsession was Baldur's Gate, where I did pretty much the same thing everywhere I went. Led to some pretty creative inventory gymnastics near the end of some of the larger dungeons.
