Somebody help me please, sudenly doom 3 & dark mod , quake 3 and wolfenstein "return to the castle" are not working, they crash to desktop, i get a message like "couldn´t load library" could this be caused by Dark mod updates, or because my windows xp did not passed a microsoft online test? it is now considered a ilegal copie, could it be this? although the other games work fine.

I suspect that your OpenGL libraries somehow become stuffed.
Download and install the latest driver for your video card from either Nvidia.com or AMD.com. Uninstall the current driver and then install the new one.

No. Those are runtime libraries for various programs and games. What else have you done to your system in between the time id games worked and when you noticed they quit working? Did you install any Windows updates?

sometimes when i connect my pc to net, the windows makes automatic updates, is there a way to prevent this forced updates? and also i did some updates of Dark mod, i read in some place that throwing mods into the pc can be prejudicial, what other explanation can i find? afterall the only games that are not working is the ones that use id software engine. Probably i will have to reinstall windows xp again after fromating my pc. I just can´t find the root of the problem.

Automatic Updates can be turned off by going to Security Centre in the Windows Control Panel - there should be an option for "Manage security settings for Automatic Updates". On my PC I have Windows alert me when updates are available, so I can install them when it is convenient. I have had my work PC shut-down in the middle of our experiments before because it was doing an automated reboot after updating :(
Having Updates turned completely off is a bad idea though, the security updates are definitely recommended.

You can always use System Restore to restore your Windows to what it was like a few days ago before this happened. Just use Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. It will not delete your files. Also, TDM doesn't tamper with your operating system at all. It is an OpenGL problem most likely. I would restore to a few days ago and then start watching to see what specific updates are installed by updating manually instead of automatically.
